Saturday, March 28th, 2009 - a night of style showcasing Ty Scott's 2009 Resort/Swimwear line. Characterized by beautiful coppers and turquoise, the collection's swimming trunks and dresses were reminiscent of Ralph Lauren's polo and modern street attire, taking on the sense of classic chic on the street.

Loud and proud, the crowd shared their enthusiasm for their classmate's showcase in the presence of a well known producer. The dresses showcased demonstrated respect for the shapely nature of the African woman, and like Ty Scott, had African roots. Scott's presentation revolved around steeped-back dresses, which exposes most of a woman's back, and copper pants, of which were apparently designed to flaunt the contours of a woman's body.

Sponsored by Mary Kay and Vita Coco, the proceeds of the event were used to benefit the Urban Scholars program, which is found at many colleges, City College among them. Music by Logic spilled into the room, and Ron "Etherboy" Browz performed his songs, including "Jumping out the window," "Pop Champaign," and "Arab Money." Designer Coogi was present. Jehriko Turner provided photography for the show.
