Oct. 25 – Many would have considered it to be a dreary day, the worst possible time to show off clothing and fashionable underwear. But it appeared to be a special day for nearly 20 young individuals who, despite the rough weather, decided to strut their stuff on the runway.
The La Pregunta Arts Café, located between 135th and 136th streets on Amsterdam Avenue, was where it all went down. From 6 to 8 p.m., the “U:RESIST: Wear Your Resistance” movement, which advocated peace and was raising support for Barack Obama, then a presidential nominee, showcased a wide variety of decorative casual wear such as t-shirts, jeans, tank tops, sweatshirts, lingerie and formal wear to spice up the evening.
At this spectacular event, the diverse mixture of music – hip hop, R&B, acoustic soul and soft rock – contributed to the festive atmosphere.
If you’re in the mood for some excellent food, pastries, desserts and fun entertainment, I strongly suggest that you pay La Pregunta a visit. It is definitely a great place to sit back, relax and have fun. Plus, you’ll get a heads up on new events happening there and around the city!
