Room 314

In "Room 314," director Michael Knowles tells five different stories that all take place in one hotel room. Each of its chapters contains two people who have their lives changed or affected in some way by being in this room. Every vignette has to do with the relationships between people. Whether the characters are strangers, married, co-workers, or friends they come to this hotel room in search of something that will ultimately be either worthwhile or unfortunate.
The stories that are compiled in the film may seem familiar to the average viewer. Not remembering what happened the previous night, suicide attempts, the expectations that accompany being in a hotel room with someone else, and traveling with someone close are a few examples of the scenarios explored.
The movie is better than many other films that are currently in theaters. The writing is well done, and doesn't leave bland or generic dialogue to the characters. The way it was filmed is interesting, sometimes lagging behind or neglecting to capture an entire person in the frame. Constantly moving it shows or hints at the bigger picture.
