The City College of New York is in the process of completing a nearly $400 million development plan that will significantly upgrade its science and architecture programs and construct a new 21st century South Campus in Harlem, at a time when financial issues are cutting back such projects.

The Society of Automotive of Engineers (SAE), engineering club chapter of The Grove School of Engineering has been one of the most active and fruitful student club organizations of its kind at The City College of New York (CCNY). Though CCNY's School of Engineering does not currently offer programs in Automotive Engineering, many of the other available engineering programs such as the Mechanical and Electrical engineering programs provide sufficient engineering fundamentals essential in assisting with the club's projects.

I had the opportunity to attend the 2009 ASHRAE Winter Conference held in Chicago at the end of January. Attending the conference made me realize exactly how big the Engineering society really is. There are a total of 172 chapters within 14 regions worldwide.
